Tonight's discussion focused on each of the vital signs we practiced last week and how they are related to the body's vital systems.
Tonight we introduce the key questions we ask about every ill patient and patients with a poor appearance. We learn they why's and how's behind the SAMPLE and OPQRST numonics and how to get the answers we need from patients. We will do a different guided practice scenario to learn how SAMPLE & OPQRST really work. We also introduce the Focused Trauma Survey.
Tonight, urgent body surveys must be exactly right and should feel as natural as breathing. When we are called on for an urgent body survey in the field, our patient's life depends on our doing the right thing no matter how much adrenaline is pumping through us. Practice makes perfect.
The evening will conclude with expanded assessment scenarios using all our new assessment skills.
